Erin Porter continually shows so much growth, sonically and aesthetically with her first two releases. The brainchild behind the multi-instrumental solo project that is “Your Best Nightmare” has a fascination and inclination towards horror novels but also the ukulele. What you’re left with on “Ghost Town Love” is something fantastical and folksy that carries an undercurrent that feels dark, but still quite pleasantly poignant and hopeful altogether. Her voice echoes in the back as the merry strumming of her guitar adds that quaint country/western effect to the overall aesthetic to really give it that “Ghost Town Love” emotion at its core.
Both folksy and dark, “Ghost Town Love” is Your Best Nightmare showcasing her unique brand of dark folk with a tinge of strings.
