An Hour A Minute – Honeydew (Honey Don’t)

With a quirky pun inspired name, An Hour a Minute’s latest piece of synth indie rock harkens back to pioneers of the genre like MGMT, M83, and more. It’s annoyingly catchy in the chorus, with a host of little percussive elements giving a rhythm to the overwhelmingly enveloping synths that dominate the arrangement. According to the group, the song underwent a host of changes from formulation to its final cut. The version we hear today is far form what they started with, barring the name that was reworked a bit to add the phonic pun ‘Honey Do, Honey Don’t’. The two piece indie rock outfit from Toronto draw strong influences from psychedelic indie projects like a Tame Impala, recreating very similar soundscapes, and even delivering faded and atmospheric vocals that leave you gliding amidst their air.

If you adore artists like those mentioned above, you’re going to love what An Hour a Minute bring to the table. They might not go over and above, but they hit the numbers of what makes psychedelic indie rock good so damn well. Check it out now!
