The latest project of prolific Melbourne based artist James Spencer Harrison, Fleeting Persuasion is an indie pop/rock project that leans into glistening synths and luxurious soundscapes to craft songs that are dense, rich, and opulent. Layering together a combination of keys, synths, and guitars, Harrison’s project is built off the idea of deep and dark walls of sounds that sit on top of each other to create a mesh that is equal parts intricate and ingenious. Sonically, the song resembles a fairly typical indie rock record, but with a much darker and droopy feeling. Through wonderful backing vocals by Danielle Loughan and their layering alongside Harrisons, there’s a soothing but haunting energy that Eternal brings to life.
Splitting his time between Fleeting Persuasion and solo pursuits have enabled Harrison to become a regular fixture on the live music scene in Australia. He’s been an invaluable and renowned opening act for such renowned artists such as Painters & Dockers, Steve Kilbey (The Church), Jamie Hutchings (Bluebottle Kiss), Peter Fenton (CROW) and Hermitage Green (Ireland). If you’re a fan of darkwave, this project will definitely perk your attention.
