‘Poetry’ grinds, stutters, and finds its flow through a build up that carries with it a sense of desire and lust. Ives Electric reminds me of Muse, both in the vocal intonation and the rather dark and brooding instrumental arrangement that isn’t afraid of being something loud enough to take hold of an entire stadium. The brand new act is out with the first of three singles, with a whole album releasing not soon after.
Fans of this style of darker rock music, a more artful spin with significant weight and heaviness to it, Poetry is a welcome addition to a subgenre that is often under represented.
