TX2 – Where’d You Come From? | The 2000s in 2021

‘Where’d You Come From’ is a cheeky piece of pop-punk. Sounding straight out of the rock music experimentation era that was flourishing in the early 2000s, TX2’s record combines elements of emo and rap with a base of pop-punk to carve out a tune that’s got a bit of angst, but a lot of impudence. Written about discovering your partner’s true personality after an extended period of dating, the title serves as a sort of shocking revelation for TX2. He thought he fell in love with someone, but she turned out to be quite the opposite of what he’d seen her as. The rapid fire rap in the verse that flows into the brazen and passionate chorus is an ideal emo rap/rock combination.

Hailing from a small town that’s revered for its musicality, TX2 slowly accrued a loyal and passionate fanbase in his local circle. He soon moved to Miami to take his career forward with seriousness and drive. His latest record shows that musical maturity, but retains the topicality and content that holds a jovial and carefree energy. ‘you just keep killing me, killing me’.

If you grew up on the rap rock, emo rock, and pop punk revolution of the early 2000s, TX2’s latest is just the piece for you.
