There’s something so distinctively unique and exciting about ‘Flight’. The rather wavy experimental rock record from DAAY is clearly artful in its conception, quite clearly conceiving a stylistic approach that’s entirely their own. You find yourself immersed in its wonderfully distinct approach to setting a mood, slightly haywire and all over the place but somehow resolutely focused in delivering a central message and theme that manages to come shining through with a radiant resplendence. DAAY wrote Flight around the idea of bridging moments in life, about reaching for new heights and dreaming of what could be rather than settling for what is. But, rather than the more standard immense scale and stature typically adopted for these rousing anthems, Flight takes a much more wavy and free flowing approach in conveying this larger than life and anthemic message.
I absolutely adore the quirkiness, the weirdness, and the wacky approach they’ve adopted. It’s indie rock in a new age.
